This position is responsible for\n...\nvehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and Penske customers. Primarily, this position moves our box trucks up to 26' and for CDL Class A will include tractors and trailer movement. Position may also provide assistance to the service department to deliver parts and equipment.\nThis is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job that is perfect for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.\nShift:\nWeekdays 7am - 3pm, flexible.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nFollow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations\nCheck vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found\nObtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required\nReport vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles\nOther projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor\nQualifications:\n2 years of driving experience required\n2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required\nCDL Class B license required\nCDL Class A license preferred\nAbility to read and follow written instructions is required.\nAbility to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required\nRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job\nAs this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.\nWillingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.\nThis position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
